Heatin' Up

Cookin' on Thanksgiving Eve

I’d hate to jinx this heater, but if I’m going to talk about how horrible I do when i can’t buy a win (literally), then I’m gonna talk about when I get hot.

After a 2-0 night last night (5-1 overall), I’m now 10-3 and +8.1 units on my favorites since Nov. 16. Ani’s been struggling lately, but some bad beats have cost him, and he’s more than due for some positive regression.

First and foremost, I’m giving myself a pat on the back for the Marquette Golden Eagles — the first collective Sharpshooters Kings™️ absolutely throttled the No. 1 team in the country last night, taking down Kansas, 73-59, on a neutral court.

Tyrese Maxey’s point total didn’t look too promising for most of the game. He didn’t score a single point in the first quarter, but then dropped 12 before halftime. In the third, he had just five. Needing nine more points, Maxey gave us 11 in the final quarter. He even gave us two more in OT to hit 30+ points at +200.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, so I’d like to wake up thankful for another winning night… and, ya know… my family and friends and good health and all that other stuff.

Let’s ride.

Mitch’s Favorite Picks

Keldon Johnson, over 5.5 REB (+112 / FanDuel) — 1 unit
Clippers at Spurs, 8 PM EST

Going back to the Keldon Johnson well tonight but this time for his rebounds prop. We hit the other night on Johnson’s point total, which I thought was fantastic value, and I actually think this line is even better value.

Johnson is averaging 6.4 RPG this year and has had at least six boards in six of the past nine games, including ten boards against the Clippers on Monday night.

At +112, this is way too good to pass up.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, 6+ AST (+130 / FanDuel) — 0.75 units
Bucks @ Celtics, 7:30 PM EST

While Giannis is averaging just 4.6 APG this season, he’s been facilitating a lot more as of late. I think that continues tonight against a tough defensive matchup. Giannis is always going to get his, but with Lillard heating up and shooting 43.2 percent from deep the past four games, we could see a lot of passes to Lillard on the perimeter to escape a double-team down low.

Giannis has hit this mark in five of his past six games, reaching assist totals of 8, 7, 9, 2 and 7 — a 6.6 assists per game average. Given this game is against one of the best teams in the league, we shouldn’t have to worry about a blowout and Giannis not garnering enough minutes to hit this total.

Like the Johnson prop, this has too much value to not bite at +130.

Ani’s Favorite Picks

Mark Williams, over 11.5 REB (-113 / FanDuel) — 1.5 units
Wizards @ Hornets, 7 PM EST

The last time these two teams squared off, Williams grabbed 24 rebounds. Not a typo. Gafford is one of the worst rebounding centers in the league, and the Wizards — unsurprisingly — allow the fourth-most boards per game to opposing bigs.

Williams averages 10.0 RPG, but has had two 16-rebound performances in the past three games. Given the matchup, -113 feels like great value. I also like taking his alternate props for 14+ and 16+ rebounds.

Jalen Suggs, over 1.5 3PM (-110 / DraftKings) — 1 unit
Nuggets @ Magic, 7 PM EST

Back to the cash cow we go. Suggs has hit at least two threes in five of the past six games, yet this line continues to stay at 1.5 and -110. The only game he failed to knock down two triples was a game in which he saw just 17 minutes of action.

The worry here is the blowout. The Nuggets are always at risk of blowing teams out of the water and ruining the hopes of any prop bets. If the Magic can keep this relatively close, Suggs should be cashing this one once again.
